Lust Potion No. 2

Drug me with
allspice
and pepper from Ceylon
mixed with numbing nutmeg
and rusty cinnamon to smooth the harshness
the urgency of lust

a heady mixture
for night darkness
and blue window light

red beacon for my eyes
something to focus on
so I can let the waves
the fingertip whispers
carry me away

touch the rim of a galaxy
watch a cosmos unfold and
envelope me until
it gilds my forehead, cheeks
and chest with minature
pearls of glistening sweat

explode into a roman candle
fall back into nothingness
disappointment
fumbling in the dark to pull
my soul back in
to shake it from its detached watchfulness
and make it FEEL

what I wish I could feel
hot tears born in my eyes
live on my cheek
die on my lips
siblings to stifled sobs
swallowed
in the dark

by the light of a red beacon
and blue window light
